Printer spoolers
Inside of your printer there are several pieces at work. You have a hard drive, rollers and paper feeders to name a few. One of the pieces that helps your machine operate properly is the printer spooler. For a definition of printer spooler, check out About.com. This is where your documents and projects go after you press “Print” on your computer and before it comes through the paper tray. If you’re in a hurry or on the run, the worst possible thing that could happen is that you find out there the operation has been stopped unexpectedly. If you want to fix the spooler, though, you may want to follow these simple instructions below.
First, click on the “Start” button, and then click “run”. Type “services.msc” into the dialog box and then click “Ok”. You will then see a services window pop up. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where you see an option for the printer spooler. Turning on the print spooler alone will sadly not get your machine up and running. However, you do need to set the spooler to the automatic option. Double click “Print Spooler Service” and then click “Automatic”, followed by “Ok”.
Now you will need to restart your printer. Now you either need to put in the CD that came with your printer or download the software on the machine’s website. Try your print job again. If that still doesn’t work, you are going to need to try a couple other things.
You will definitely need to uninstall all software on your printer than reinstall it. To uninstall go to your “Control Panel” and then choose to remove programs. Once it is completely uninstalled, try installing the programs again. If none of these processes work, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your printer.
