Ink Toner Scams and How to Avoid Them

Unfortunately there are a lot of scams going on out there. These scams prey on innocent consumers that are looking for a good deal on an item during these rough economic times. There are several ink toner scams going on right now leaving consumers out of their hard earned money. This article will point out some of these scams and how to avoid doing business with a shady company.

The first rule of thumb when you shop online is to check out the business and make sure that is in good standing with the Better business Bureau. You will also want to make sure that they have a secure server if you are entering any of your personal information, especially your credit card info. You can see if their sight is secured during your check out of the security icon appears in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. If it doesn’t do not enter in any of your credit card or checking account information.

One of the most common ink toner scams that are going on right now involves sending your cartridges in to be refilled for a discount price. Most likely, you will not get your cartridges back. The company that you send them to will either refill them and sell them or make a profit off of recycling them. If you insist upon having your cartridges refilled, take them to an office supply store where they can do this right in front of you.

In order to make sure that you avoid scams like this you need to make sure that you are doing business with a reputable ink supplier that has been in operation for several years. Although there are some new companies out there that strive to provide you with excellent service and products, you are better off avoiding making a purchase from these companies until they have become established retailers.
